2006 STAR Team numerical resultsBBI's 2006 STAR Team trip to Honduras was a challenging, but fruitful effort. Twelve people traveled from the U.S. to be part of a team consisting of 42 people altogether. This includes missionaries and pastors in the area, translators, as well as counselors and ushers for the large evening meetings. Just looking at the numbers is exciting. Hearing the personal stories is a special thrill. Being a part of the team was the best thrill of all. Here is a table that we hope will give you the big picture of the campaign. We plan to have some testimonies in a few weeks to share here on our web site.
Note: We did not ask for a church meeting attendance count, but a few gave their counts. The total in all church and campaign meetings was well over 4,000. That being the case, it cost less than $3.00 for each person the STAR team ministered to during the campaign. In addition, members of the team spoke in several schools to students concerning AIDS and, in the process, presented the Gospel. Team members received 623 response cards from the students. In order to evaluate whether the students understood the questions, two questions were posed which cannot both be answered with a "yes." There were 323 cards returned on which the students answered "yes" to both of those questions. That left 300 cards that we believe accurately represent the responses of the students. Of those 300 valid response cards, 209 of them indicated that the student filling it out had trusted Christ as a result of what they heard. In spite of considerable opposition from Satan, we can see in these numbers the clear evidence that He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. Thousands heard the Gospel clearly presented. And an estimated 328 people prayed to receive Christ during the campaign. We celebrate the victory God won during these meetings and pray that He will move the new believers to join with other believers, be discipled, and Grow in Christ. At the same time, the seed has been planted in thousands of other hearts. May the Holy Spirit cause it to take root and grow.
