We would like to introduce our Honduras staff members.

Peter & Sandi Silseth

Peter Silseth (popularly known in the islands as "Miss Sandi's husband" or just "Mr. Peter") is the station manager and the voice heard most frequently during the English broadcasting hours.

His wife, Sandi, has become widely known and loved around the Bay Islands and the coast of Honduras due to her role in listener relations. She spends many hours each month visiting listeners in their homes and praying with them. Listeners know both their voices, but Sandi's face is the face they are most likely to know.

Peter and Sandi have two daughters. Naomi recently graduated from Northwestern College in Minnesota and is working in China. Susanna just got married in Minnesota this past December.

For the most current info from the Silseths (and some great pictures), point your browser to The Silseths web site.

The Silseths have been serving with BBI in Roatan since 1999. Prior to joining BBI, Peter had spent over 20 years working on the air in Christian radio in Minnesota, Colorado, and even Liberia, Africa.

Frederick & Marlies Henderson

Frederick Henderson is Radio HRGS's technician. When he isn't fixing things, he is looking for ways to continue improving the reliability and quality of the radio signal. With the salty environment on the island, rust is an implacable foe of the towers and other equipment. Frederick recently led the charge in replacing the station's rusted out satellite receiver dish and then headed up the repainting of both antenna towers. Frederick also spends a good deal of time on the air which gives Peter a day off and also allows him to handle some of his managerial responsibilities.

Frederick's wife, Marlies, a native of Switzerland, spends much of her time raising their two young children, Oliver and Alice. Even with her busy schedule as a mom, Marlies finds time to get into the studios for a few hours each week and help with the announcing. Now that both children attend school, Marlies is able to spend more time at the radio station and has now taken over the keeping of the books.

The arrival of the Hendersons in the summer of 2003 was an answer to several years of prayer for new technical staff at the radio station. Before joining BBI, the Hendersons had been serving with Trans World Radio in South Africa and Bonaire. Frederick brings a wealth of technical radio experience to HRGS.
